The 4th of July is not only Independence Day, but is the 75th anniversary of Lou Gehrig's "I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the earth" speech. This is perhaps one of the best loved and most well known speeches from a player in the history of baseball. I am not a Yankees fan, but I have to admit, if I had a time machine, I would go back and watch Lou Gehrig play.

Major League Baseball put this touching tribute together and it will be shown in Major League parks on the 4th of July. It was done by all the 1st Basemen for each team and Derek Jeter was also a part of this project. To Major League Baseball, I say, "Job well done!"

I also hope when you watch it, you take the time and find out more about Lou Gehrig's Disease.
