Mary Frances Hansen Bensen, 81

Mary Frances Hansen Benson, 81 of Marietta, GA passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Hospice Atlanta.

She was born on August 16, 1932 in Wamego, KS, a daughter of Gerhard and Helen Rowles Hansen.

On August 16, 1953 she was united in marriage to Jesse Frank Benson until 1969.  He preceded her in death in November of 1984.  She was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Robert Briscoe of Sedalia, MO.

Surviving are three siblings: John R. Hansen and his wife Lois of Sarasota, FL; Paul A. Hansen and his wife Mimi Farrelly Hansen of Longmont, CO; and Martha Briscoe of Sedalia, MO; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary attended University of Kansas, University of Texas and Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, GA.  She worked for Hewlett-Packard in sales and as a training specialist, taking her to South America and Europe.  Mary retired after 42 years of service. She participated in community programs and was a committed patron of the arts in the Marietta area.
