An 18-year-old man's body, identified as Lloyd D. Randle of Jefferson City, was recovered from the Missouri River just before 1 p.m. Monday in Callaway County.

His car, a 2007 Dodge Caliber, was recovered from the river Saturday about 930 feet from the Noren Conservation Ramp and 70 feet from the shore in the main channel.

The man went missing Friday night. A witness reportedly saw the vehicle enter the water from the Noren Access Ramp. A search underwater, downstream and on land then commenced.

An eight-member Missouri State Highway Patrol Dive Team found the body floating on the surface of the water at 12:50 p.m., about 700 feet downstream from the Noren Access Point, across from the Capitol just north of Jeff City with the assistance of a search unit with the Osage and Callaway County Sheriff's departments. The Jeff City Fire Department also assisted in the search.

Callaway County Medical Examiner Stacy Huck pronounced Randle deceased.

The body was taken to Maupins Funeral Home in Fulton.
