Sedalia Man Killed in I-70 Accident

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a fatal one-vehicle accident on I-70 at mile marker 192.2 in Warren County on Wednesday afternoon (April 23). The accident reportedly occurred as the 2010 Peterbilt driven by 35-year-old James L. Lutjen of Sedalia traveled off the left side of the roadway and overturned. Lutjen suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Warren County Coroner, Roger Mauzy.

Two female victims suffer injuries in a one-vehicle accident in Lafayette County

Around 2:30 Wednesday afternoon, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a one-vehicle injury accident on Route “O” at Mike Lane in Lafayette County. The accident occurred as the driver of a 2004 Buick, 67-year-old Donna Fortune of Wellington, suffered a medical episode, drove off the roadway and struck a house. Fortune received moderate injuries and was taken to Lafayette Regional Hospital for treatment. A passenger in the vehicle, 86-year-old Geneva Iles of Mayview, suffered serious injuries and was taken via LifeFlight to Centerpoint Hospital for treatment.

Two Lone Jack teens injured in a one-vehicle accident Wednesday night

The Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Johnson County Fire Department reported a one-vehicle accident that occurred at 8:37 Wednesday night. The accident, which occurred on Route 1983 at 325 Road in Johnson County, reportedly happened as the driver of a 2002 Pontiac, 16-year-old Samantha Osborn of Lone Jack, lost control of her vehicle and ran off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle then returned to the roadway, slid off of the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment, overturned and struck a utility pole before coming to rest. Osborn suffered serious injuries and was transported to Children’s Mercy by LifeFlight for treatment. A passenger 16-year-old Britney Gilmore also of Lone Jack received minor injuries, but refused treatment at the scene.

Clinton woman injured in a rollover accident Monday morning

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report, a 41-year-old Clinton woman identified as Laurel Fultz lost control of the 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser she was driving on Missouri Highway 13 North East of 1400 Road in Henry County at 9:40 Monday morning. The accident report states the vehicle  traveled off the roadway, struck a ditch, became airborne, rolled and then came to rest in a field. Fultz was taken to Golden Valley Hospital by private vehicle for treatment of what was described as moderate injuries.

Warrensburg teenager injured in a Johnson County accident Tuesday

Just before 8 p.m. Tuesday night, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a one-vehicle injury accident on Missouri Route 13 a quarter of a mile from Route “E” in Johnson County. The accident occurred as the driver of a 2014 Nissan, 17-year-old Krislyn Maness of Warrensburg, swerved to avoid another vehicle, travelled off the roadway, struck a telephone pole, an embankment and several trees before while overturning. Maness suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Research Medical in Kansas City by Life Flight Air EMS for treatment.
