Recovery of stolen vehicle results in arrest for a 36-year-old Sedalia woman

Just after 11 p.m. Wednesday night, Sedalia Police located a stolen vehicle in the 300 block of East 11th Street. Upon contact with the driver, identified as 36-year-old Nichole Chumpraphai of Sedalia, she was found to have a no-bond warrant out of Jefferson City for a parole violation. The police report states the K9 Unit was called, and the dog alerted to narcotics in the vehicle that were identified as the driver’s. Chumpraphai was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was placed on 24-hour hold pending formal charges of tampering with a motor vehicle and possession of marijuana. She was also being held on the no-bond parole violation warrant.

Lee’s Summit woman arrested during a traffic stop

Around 8 a.m. on Thursday, Sedalia Police stopped a vehicle at 14th and Ingram for having no front license plate. Upon contact with the driver, 48-year-old Carolyn Smith of Lee’s Summit, she was found to be suspended. Smith was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail pending formal charges.

Dog bite reported Wednesday night on East 18th

At 8:10 Wednesday night, Sedalia Police responded to a residence in the 600 block of East 18th Street on a reported animal bite. Upon arrival, the caller told the officers her stepfather was bit as he attempted to separate two dogs that were fighting. There was no other information available at news time.

Gas Drive off reported at Break Time on West Broadway

Early this morning, the Break Time located at 318 West Broadway reported a $12 gas drive off. There were no suspects at news time.

Scooter accident reported in Pettis County Wednesday afternoon

At 3:35 Wednesday afternoon, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a one-vehicle accident, that occurred on US 50 Highway four tenths of a mile west of Main Street in Pettis County. The accident happened as the driver of a 2013 Yamaha Zuma Scooter, 64-year-old Robert Proctor, lost control of the vehicle on a gravel driveway and was ejected. Proctor suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment.
