Missouri State Highway Patrol Reports a Fatal Accident in Benton County Friday July 24,2015

Fatal Accident Reported in Benton County Thursday Afternoon

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a fatality accident on Missouri Route “7” South of Route “VV” in Benton County at 12:45pm Thursday afternoon. According to the report the accident occurred as the 2005 Dodge driven by 66-year-old Susan Hornsback of Edwards Missouri crossed the centerline of the Highway “7”, travelled off the roadway, and struck a tree. Ms. Hornsback was pronounced deceased at the scene at 2:23 Thursday afternoon by a Benton County Sheriff’s Deputy, and was transported to the Benton County Coroner’s office. The report also states she was not wearing a seatbelt.

Edwards man seriously injured in a Benton County accident this (Friday) morning

Just before 8am this (Friday) morning according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report, a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by 33-year-old Daniel S. Norris of Edwards Missouri, ran off of Route “H” east of Fire Tower Avenue in Benton County. The vehicle then struck an embankment totaling the Cavalier, and causing serious injuries to Norris. Norris was taken to University Hospital in Columbia by Staff For Life for treatment. Norris was reportedly wearing a seatbelt.
