Looking for a new way to motivate yourself to be more active?   Don't know where to start?  Not sure what you even want to try? Healthy U may have the answer.

The community health and wellness initiative has been hosting a series of monthly activities designed to get the community moving in ways they may not have thought of or tried before. The program, called Moving 101, will meet at 6:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month from June through October - their last one is this very week.

The events are free and open to the public, and all Moving 101 activities will include an activity for children, if they are unable to participate with their parents.  I got to talk with Stefanie Fraley and Megan Webb of Moving 101 and Healthy U about the events coming up this month.

So make a point to get to the latest Moving 101 event on Oct. 16, Yoga, Kempton Room, Multipurpose Center, State Fair Community College.

Information about Moving 101 and other Healthy U activities can be found at facebook.com/HUPettisCounty.  Healthy U is a project of the Healthy Living Action Group, which includes Bothwell Regional Health Center, Katy Trail Community Health, Pettis County Health Center, Boys and Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri, State Fair Community College, and University of Missouri Extension.  For more information, contact Stephanie Fraley at (660) 827-9138 or sfraley@brhc.org.

Movingly yours,

Behka
