The following Missouri State Highway Patrol accident reports are from accidents that occurred on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014.

Just before 9 a.m. Thursday morning, the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Pettis County Sheriff’s Department reported a two-vehicle Accident on Northbound 65 Highway ¾ of a mile south of Ball Road in Pettis County. The accident reportedly occurred as the 2013 Ford Escape driven by 64-year-old Henry Starcher of Warsaw struck the 1999 Toyota Carolla driven by 22-year-old Tatyana Shevchenko of Sedalia in the rear as it was stopped in traffic. The Shevchenko vehicle then travelled off the roadway and came to rest in the median. The Starcher vehicle drove off the roadway and came to rest in a ditch. A passenger in the Shevchenko vehicle, 56-year-old Audrey Shevchenko of Sedalia, suffered moderate injuries. The driver alsosuffered minor injuries; both victims were taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center by private transport for treatment. Starcher received minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.

At 7:50 Thursday morning, the Missouri State Highway Patrol along with deputies from the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office reported a three-vehicle accident on 65 Highway just north of Ball Road in Pettis County.  The accident report states that the driver of a 2008 Nissan Titan, 55-year-old Vicki Lipe of Windsor, lost control on the icy roadway and struck the 2005 Nissan driven by 22-year-old Brittany Couts of Windsor that was parked on the inside shoulder of the highway. The Couts vehicle then returned to the roadway and struck a 2010 Ford Focus driven by 27-year-old Krystal Finkenbine of Warsaw, which was parked on the northbound shoulder. The only injury reported was Vicky Lipe who refused treatment at the scene for minor injuries.

Around 8:50 Thursday morning, the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Pettis County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a rollover accident that occurred on Northbound 65 Highway North of Ball Road in Pettis County. The accident report states the accident happened as the driver of a 2001 Jeep, 34-year-old Cory Frans of Warsaw, lost control of his vehicle due to weather conditions, travelled off the roadway and overturned. Frans suffered minor injuries and was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center by private vehicle for treatment.

Just after 10 a.m. Thursday morning, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a rollover accident that occurred on southbound 65 Highway a half mile south of Route “F” in Pettis County. The accident happened according to the report as the 1998 Nissan Truck slid on the ice, drove off the right side of the roadway and overturned. The driver, 52-year-old Joseph Hicks of Osceola, suffered minor injuries but refused treatment at the scene.

At 9:36 Thursday morning, a Blue Springs man identified as 23-year-old Aaron Price lost control of the 2000 Ford Ranger he was driving and began to slide. The vehicle struck a guardrail on Westbound I-70 and US 65 Highway in Saline County, and began to overturn before coming to rest. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Price received serious injuries in the accident and was transported to University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia by Saline County Ambulance for treatment.
