National Weather Service Issues a Slight Risk For Severe Storms Today
The weather for the first weekend of summer has been great. Today (June 23), that could change. The National Weather Service says much of the Midwest region, including Kansas City, Topeka, Omaha, Des Moines, and portions of St. Louis are now under a slight risk for severe storms today and tonight. The primary hazards will be very large hail, damaging winds and possibly a tornado.
Storms this morning, will continue to move eastward, and could even re-intensify by early afternoon over Missouri. We'll watch for additional storms to form later this afternoon across Kansas and northern Missouri.
