I know things have been a little crazy these days. It seems like everyone is so busy, and everyone is just so stressed out, and there's not much to be done for it, is there?  For a lot of us, not really. But there might be some options for you guys out there who want to take a bit of a morning drive and head out for some fishing.

The Missouri Department of Conservation and Missouri State Parks are working with Arrow Rock State Historic Site.  Now I know what you're thinking, "Behk, why would I go all the way down there when I can fish here in Sedalia?"  Well.  It's about a forty five minute drive from us here in Sedalia. So I get that you might not want to do that.  But if you need a change of pace and have little ones, this might be perfect.

It's just far enough away to be a "road trip" without anyone getting too bored.  It's close enough you can get there in less than an hour, and far enough away to be a new experience instead of your normal fishing holes in Sedalia or Knob Noster.  And they're having a special event on the 25th!

What is it? A free fishing day! It's going to be at Big Soldier Lake from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  They'll have some poles and tackle for you totally free if you get there early (if you get there late, they might run out),  just bring your own lawn chair, snacks, stuff like that.  This might be perfect if you want to get a little bit out of town, but not so far that you're spending the whole day on the road. You don't even need to make a reservation.  I see you, Grandpa. You wanna do this.  So grab the kiddos and go for it!  If you have any questions, you can always call them at 660-837-3330.

Fishingly yours,
Behka
