Veterans Who Like Fishing? Missouri State Parks Got You Covered
If you are veteran who has served our country, you have my respect.
In most of the restaurants I used to work for, we would give a 10% discount if you showed a military ID. It wasn't much, but it was a small way to say thank you. I suppose the way things are now, if you can save a buck or two here and there, it can all add up.
My father enjoyed fishing when he was alive. My nephew loves it, and I have an uncle and cousin who have taken quite a few trips to Alaska for salmon fishing. It has never been my thing, but I certainly can see how it can be a therapeutic activity. If you happen to be veteran who likes to fish, there is an activity this Easter that may interest you.
Missouri State Parks is inviting veterans to experience the fun of catching fish at Bennett Spring State Park Veterans Free Fishing Day from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 23. Tags can be obtained in the park store, and fishing will begin and end with sirens at the park. If you like trout fishing this could be a fun time, especially if the weather cooperates.
The event will be taking place at Bennett Spring State Park and you can click HERE for more details and info. In regards to fishing, I was always curious. If you catch a big one, why throw it back in the water? If you can take that much effort to catch one, you should reap the awards. #JustSaying
