Growing up, all my friends had Star Wars toys. The friend who had the Millennium Falcon was the king. It was the Star Wars toy of toys. I even wanted Star Wars action figures and toys; honestly, I didn't care about the movies. I was more of a Matchbox, Hot Wheels kind of kid, much more interested in the world around me than a galaxy far, far away. I'll say this: Even though I'm not a huge Star Wars geek, this new exhibit coming to The National Museum of Toys/Miniatures in Kansas City excites me.

Check out this video from ImHostingSNL, which looks at all the Star Wars toy commercials from 1977 to 1978! It's pretty cool.

The Nostalgia Awakens: Retro Kenner Star Wars Action Figure Toys

The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures has an upcoming exhibition featuring every action figure toy made by Kenner that relates to the original "Star Wars" trilogy. That's right. The action figures you had, the action figures you lost, and, of course, the one Star Wars toy you wanted but Mom and Dad said no to.

The exhibit is scheduled to run from May 3, 2025, through January 26, 2026, with a reasonably priced opening reception on May 2, 2025, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.

The cost to attend the opening reception on May 2, 2025, is $10 and includes appetizers, drinks, and all of the Museum's galleries will be open throughout the evening. In addition, Boulevard Brewing Company will be holding a tasting of their Space Camper Cosmic IPA. If you're interested in attending the opening reception, click here.

Attending the opening reception on May 2 is no more expensive than a regular museum visit, so if you're a huge "Star Wars" fan or the toys were a big part of your childhood, why not get tickets to the opening reception? Besides the exhibit, you can check out the entire museum.
