Authorities in Moniteau County recently arrested a 32-year old woman on drug charges.

The Moniteau County Sheriff's Department says on June 3, deputies responded to a report of a suspicious person located on Flag Springs Road just west of California, MO.

As deputies approached, they reportedly observed a woman walking in a ditch near a creek and then quickly jump in her vehicle, proceeding to leave the area.

Deputies stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Jacquelyn Thomasson, of Holt's Summit, MO. Deputies spoke with Thomasson and she reportedly gave conflicting statements of why she was in the area. A consent to search the vehicle was reportedly denied. Deputies called for a K-9 unit and proceeded to conduct an exterior sniff of the vehicle.

The K-9 unit alerted to the presence of drugs and a search was then conducted. Deputies located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Thomasson was arrested and taken to the Moniteau County Jail, for Possession of a Controlled Substance (meth) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bond was set at $25,000.00.
