One Sedalia Teen Killed, Another Injured in Smasal Road Crash
A Sedalia teen was killed and another one was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Saturday morning in Pettis County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 2005 Chevy Silverado, driven by a 17-year-old boy from Sedalia, was on Samsal Road, east of Welliver Road just before 11 a.m., when the Chevy traveled off the roadway and struck a creek embankment.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:30 a.m., by PCAD paramedic Charisse Bauer. The body was taken to Heckart Funeral Home.
His passenger, an 18-year-old male, also from Sedalia, suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by PCAD. Neither were wearing their seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.
The Silverado was totaled and towed by Don’s Truck Towing.
Pettis County Deputies assisted the three Troopers on scene.
