Oraphena Cathrine Caton, 69

Oraphena Catherine Caton, 69, of Sedalia, died Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at Fair View Nursing Home.

She was born March 29, 1945, in Jackson County, a daughter of the late Early Gilbert Hodges, Sr. and Mary Frances (Lease) Hodges. On November 12, 1963, she married Marvin Eugene Caton, who preceded her in death on November 29, 2000.

She was a longtime resident of Smithton and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed being with family and friends and crocheting. She was very fond of children and liked helping at the school.

She is survived by 3 children, Eugene Caton, II, of Alma, Lester Wayne Caton, of Smithton, & Susan Lee Caton, of Kingdom City; 2 brothers; 3 sisters; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchild; & several nieces & nephews.

Funeral service will be 4 pm, Wednesday, August 27th, 2014, at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel with Bishop Anthony Beard officiating. Visitation will be 3 pm until service time.

The body will be cremated with burial to follow in Smithton Cemetery at a later date.
