In 2010 Sedalia celebrated its 150th anniversary, and a limited edition DVD was issued that included old photographs and film footage going as far back as the 1940s. If you didn't have a chance to pick up that DVD, there is a short promotional video still on YouTube  - Own 150 Years of Sedalia Missouri History - that includes several cool retro shots from around the city.

I'm always interested in seeing footage from back before we were all waling around with high-definition cameras built into our phones. It wasn't that long ago that someone had to lug around special equipment, make sure they had blank tapes, or even develop old-fashioned film in order to document local events or photograph local landmarks.

It's fun to see just how much has changed over the years. There are several shots in this video of locations that are still recognizable. There are others that are a little more mysterious.

The promo video says that only 1,000 copies of the two-disc DVD were produced. A check of the Katy Depot's website shows that they still have some for sale, and they're on sale for only $5.

This limited-edition, commemorative two DVD set features newly digitized historic film, still photos, memorabilia and interviews with Sedalians.
