On Friday, May 12 at 10 a.m., the Pettis County Commission, Brenneke Construction, and OWN Engineering Project Inspector Eric Gilbert conducted a final inspection for Bridge No. 2620028 on Pacific School Road (south of Bahner).

After the inspection of the bridge was complete, it was determined the project was substantially finalized and the road was ordered opened to traffic effective immediately.

Pettis County has 166 bridges in the county system and is one of the most active counties when it comes to bridge repairs and maintenance. Out of the 13 deficient bridges in the system, seven bridges have been financially obligated, with the county currently seeking funding for two more.

“Early on, we made a commitment to address deficient bridges throughout our county. I am glad that we have been able to fulfill that promise and see the substantial results of our investments.” stated Eastern Commissioner Israel Baeza.

The County Commission is also pleased to announce that this $618,373.50 bridge project was successfully completed ahead of the estimated schedule. Due to a combination of collaborating factors, the project was completed in only 60 days of the 120 days detailed in the contract.

“Brenneke Construction does excellent work, they are some of the best bridge builders in the State of Missouri”, Western Commissioner Jim Marcum commented. “We are very pleased that they bid on our projects."

Eastern Commissioner Israel Baeza concluded by saying, “These bridge replacements projects have truly been a collective effort and I am thankful for everyone in our administration who has played a key role in making these successes possible. Our team stands ready to tackle the next challenges and continue delivering quality results for our residents."
