A Park Hills woman was seriously injured when she was struck by a boat propeller at the Lake of the Ozarks Saturday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 26-foot 1998 Sea Ray, operated by 22-year-old Ethan L. Nixon of Mineral Point, was stopped, waiting for passengers to board at the rear of the vessel in the water at 3:05 p.m. at the four-mile marker of the Glaize Arm.

Nixon told the Patrol the engine was running, but was not in gear when 22-year-old Emma N. Means of Park Hills attempted to board the vessel and was struck by the propeller.

Means was taken to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach for treatment of serious injuries.
