Versailles Woman Killed in Morgan County Head-on Crash

One person was killed and another two injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred Monday afternoon in Morgan County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2012 Cadillac CTS and a northbound 2006 Mercury Mariner were on Missouri 5, just north of Indigo Road at 4:10 p.m. when the Cadillac began to pass another vehicle. Both the Cadillac and Mariner swerved to the east shoulder and struck head-on.

A passenger in the Mariner, 22-year-old Tamara J. Deroo of Versailles, was pronounced dead at 4:30 p.m. by Morgan County Coroner Marion Jones.

The driver of the Mariner, 43-year-old Angela M. Decker of Versailles, and the driver of the Cadillac, 19-year-old Brandon A. Guillen of Camdenton, suffered serious injuries, and both were transported to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach for treatment.

Tamara was the daughter of Angela Decker.

Both vehicles were totaled.

A total of seven Troopers were on scene.
