Stover Man Crashes Mercury Into Two Trees

A Stover man was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred early Tuesday morning in Morgan County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 2010 Mercury Mariner, driven by 40-year-old Anthony J. Gibson of Stover, was on 3rd Street, 150 feet west of Cherry Street, in Stover, at 1:10 a.m., when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and across Cherry Street. The Mercury then struck two trees before coming to rest.

Gibson suffered serious injuries, and was transported to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach by EMS. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.

The Mercury had extensive damage and was towed from the scene.

Morgan County Deputies assisted the Patrol.
