A La Belle man was injured in a boating mishap that occurred at Lake of the Ozarks on Thursday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a fishing boat was being operated in a careless and imprudent manner at the 33-mile marker of the main channel of Lake Ozarks around 10 a.m.

 

The boat impacted the shore line, and 49-year-old Clayton A. Wainwright of La Belle, Mo., was later arrested at 12:25 p.m., for Boating While Intoxicated By Drugs, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Careless & Imprudent Driving  of a Motorboat.

 

Wainwright was transported by Lake West EMS to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The fishing boat sank into the lake as a result of the crash.

 

Camden County Deputies and Sunrise Beach Fire assisted the five Troopers on scene.
