Two Lebanon residents were injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Thursday afternoon in Morgan County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a northbound 2001 Ford Ranger, driven by 33-year-old Zachary T. Johnson of Lebanon, was on Missouri 135 at Westwood Avenue around 3:15 p.m., when the truck crossed the center of the roadway. The driver overcorrected and the vehicle traveled over the centerline again. The driver overcorrected and the truck crossed the center again and overturned.

Johnson suffered serious injuries while his passenger, 54-year-old Lorilee A. Gutierrez, also of Lebanon, suffered serious injuries. Neither were wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.

Both were flown to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.

The Ford Ranger was totaled and towed.

Johnson was later arrested by the Patrol at 4:35 p.m. He now faces charges of driving while suspended second offense, and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway resulting in an accident.
