Pettis County Democrats hosted an event at First United Methodist Church, 916 Thompson Boulevard on Thursday, April 16.

 

“We The People” featured a fried chicken dinner and a silent auction, as well as Democratic candidates for statewide office.

 

Those candidates who showed up in person included Michael Walbum for Missouri House of Representatives, District 57; Rene Vance, candidate for State Rep District 52; Jordan Herrera, candidate for Congress  4th District; Mike McCaffree, candidate for Missouri Senate District 28.

 

McCaffree faces Republicans Sam Alexander, Chuck Lentz and Brad Pollitt in the primary. There are no incumbents in the race.

 

Herrera faces seven challengers for the seat. There are no incumbents in the race.

 

Walbum, a 2016 UCM graduate and former military (1986 – 2010), will face Republican Matt Seargent.

The primary is scheduled for Aug. 4 and the general election is slated for Nov. 3.
