Pettis County Deputies Searching For Driver Who Fled After Traffic Stop

On Sunday, Pettis County deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on 765 Highway (North Ohio) just after midnight.

The driver started to pull over, but then fled from deputies. A short pursuit took place and the driver then stopped near Hamm and Ohio at which time the driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

Deputies identified the driver as Levi Markes, who ran into a heavily-wooded area. Deputies are still searching for Markes and are requesting charges of felony resisting arrest and felony driving while revoked or suspended.
