Pettis County Firefighters Respond to Three Fires
The Pettis County Fire Protection District responded to three fires on Friday.
The first call came around 11:30 a.m. on Griessen Rd. where approximately 40 acres burned, along with several fence lines. The Pettis County Fire Chief says high winds caused the fire to spread fast and jump a roadway. The Sedalia Fire Department assisted the firefighting efforts. Firefighters were on the scene until approximately 3:30 p.m.
Pettis County firefighters also assisted the Lake Creek Fire Department with a 50 acre field fire on Pacific School Rd. The Pettis County Fire Protection District was on the scene for approximately one hour and 15 minutes.
At 6:15 p.m. on January 26, firefighters were called to a structure fire on J Highway in northern Pettis County. No injuries were reported. The structure was heavily damaged. Electrical fire was determined to be the cause. The Pettis County Fire Protection District was on the scene for about two hours.
