While acknowledging that the current Stay at Home Order and restrictions are "difficult and hard on many people." The Pettis County Health Center says residents should expect some restrictions to continue after Missouri's Stay at Home order expires on May 3.

At the Pettis County COVID-19 task force meeting this morning The Pettis County Health Center reported that COVID-19 cases continue to rise in Pettis County. The Health Center said the continued increase in cases is important to note. And also means there won't be a fourteen day decrease in cases, which is one of the guidelines in the national plan to open up America, by May 3.

Pettis County Health Center told the Pettis County COVID-19 task force meeting that there will be a new public health order in place on Saturday April 25 and there will be public health order in place Sunday May 3.

The Pettis County Health Center is working with the community developing steps to re-open the community safely and will have the plan for re-opening published on the Pettis County Health Center website on May 1.

As of today, Thursday April 21, Pettis County has 21 cases of COVID-19, and two of those cases are fully recovered.
