Sheriff's Office crime reports 9-19-18

On Sept. 11, Pettis County deputies arrested 19-year-old Justice K. Workman, an employee at Woods East, 701 E. Broadway, for stealing after an investigation was conducted.

According to a report, the employee admitted to taking money from Woods on multiple occasions while working at the grocery store during September.

Workman was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released on a charge of theft.

On Monday, Pettis County deputies took a theft report at WalMart, 3201 W. Broadway.

According to a report, WalMart reported that on Sunday around 9:30 a.m., a male suspect placed a homemade bar code on an item of lesser value than the original price. He then went through self-checkout and paid for the item, which was not identified, at the lesser price.

The male was stopped by store personnel and asked to return to the office. The male refused and left the area on foot. Store security believes the same male subject has stolen the same item numerous times using the same homemade bar code.

The suspect had not yet been located at the time of the report.

On Sept. 14, Pettis County deputies investigated the theft of clothing from a residence in the 4200 block of West Main.
