Pettis County Sheriff’s Reports for October 2, 2020

This is a compilation of reports released by the Pettis County Sheriff's Office:

On Friday, Pettis County deputies arrested Christopher Bennett in the 4700 block of US 65 in reference to protective custody.

On Thursday, Pettis County deputies arrested James Harmon in the 2300 block of West Country Club Drive for an active arrest warrant.

On Thursday, Pettis County deputies took an assault and tampering with a motor vehicle report in the 500 block of Myrtle in Smithton. Investigation continues.

On Thursday at 12:20 a.m., Pettis County deputies responded to the 16000 block of Wisdom Road on a burglary in progress. At the time of the report, no arrests were made, and an investigation is on-going.

On Sept. 30, Pettis County deputies took a report of possible animal neglect in the 2800 block of E. 28th Street. Investigation continues.

On Sept. 30 at 6 p.m., Ryan Crawford reported he was the victim of an attempted fraudulent transaction. Investigation is under way.

On Sept. 29, Pettis County deputies took a burglary report in the 100 block of West Clay in Smithton. Investigation continues.

On Sept. 29, Pettis County deputies arrested Tyrece A. Pierce for DWI after deputies observed a vehicle fail to stop for a red light. Pierce was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

On Sept. 28 at 9:30 a.m., Pettis County deputies responded to Crown Power and Equipment in La Monte to take a stealing report. Taken were a trailer and a piece of machinery from the business. Investigation continues.

On Sept. 28, Curtis W. Cornine of Houstonia reported he was the victim of identity theft. Investigation continues.

On Sept. 26, Pettis County deputies took a report of careless and imprudent driving, along with possible unlawful use of a firearm that occurred in the area of Highway TT and US Highway 50. An investigation is pending, upon cooperation of the parties involved.
