Early Sunday morning, Deputies conducted a warrant check in the 400 block of North Hurley in Sedalia. Deputies located and placed the subject under arrest because they had a warrant from Pettis County issued on September 12th, 2024. The warrant was issued after an encounter on September 1st. In that incident, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of East 14th Street and South Marvin Avenue on a white Ford F150 because it had a registration violation. The driver was identified, and a computer check was conducted through the PCJC, which then showed she had no operator’s status. Deputies then gained consent to search the vehicle. On the driver’s seat, Deputies located a pink coin pouch, which had a clear plastic baggie in it that contained a white crystal substance. Deputies also collected a small clear glass jar. The suspect began to scream in the back seat of the patrol vehicle. When Deputies opened the rear door of the patrol car, the suspect said the bottle was hers. She also admitted the pink bag was hers and stated “I forgot it was in there, honestly.” At the Sheriff’s Office, Deputies used a scale to weigh the amount of white crystal substance in the bag, and showed it had a weight of .4 grams*, and tested positively for fentanyl. The clear jar tested positively for methamphetamine. At the present time, Elizabeth Pearl Meador, 33, of Sedalia, was arrested on her Pettis County warrant carrying charges of felony Trafficking Drugs in the 2nd Degree, and felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. Bond was set at $100,000 cash or surety.

Saturday afternoon, Deputies were dispatched to the Oak Tree Manor Mobile Home Park, 2850 South Ingram Avenue for a report of a subject trespassing. There was no further information in the report.

Sunday morning, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of West 15th Street and South Grand Avenue in Sedalia on a white Toyota Camry. The Deputies noticed the male driver pull into a gas station located at 716 West 16th Street. Deputies recognized the driver as a male whose driving privileges were currently suspended. The driver’s status was checked through the Pettis County Joint Communications. The vehicle left the gas station, and Deputies conducted a traffic stop. Deputies noticed the driver and a female, later identified as Jessica K. Salmons, 36 of Sedalia, switched seats. Travis Alexander Lawson, 40, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Suspended. Lawson was booked and released with a court date.

*The probable cause report notes the statutory amount of Trafficking Drugs is 20 Milligrams. The amount in the bag was .4 Grams, aka 400 Milligrams.
