On the evening of Thursday, September 3, Pettis County deputies were notified by Warrensburg Police that they had recovered a red 2012 Ford pickup that had been stolen out of Pettis County.

The truck had been stolen during a series of residential burglaries that occurred near Cambridge Drive, west of Sedalia, during the early morning hours of Aug. 23.

On Friday, Sept. 4, Pettis County Sheriff's detectives coordinated with Warrensburg Police and conducted a follow-up investigation. During the investigation, an adult male suspect was identified, and was taken into custody after a foot pursuit.

The suspect, not named in the report, was transported to the Johnson County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold for 1st degree tampering with a motor vehicle, and resisting arrest by flight.

Additional charges of 1st degree burglary, 2nd degree burglary and stealing were requested from the Pettis County Prosecutor's Office.
