Smith-Cotton High School senior Bailey Brown has accepted an athletic scholarship to play basketball at Rockhurst University in Kansas City.
Brown, the daughter of Jennifer and Toby Brown, has been on the S-C Lady Tigers varsity basketball team all four years of high school, earning three letters to date and serving as a team captain three seasons.

She earned All-Conference recognition once and All-District honors twice, as well as being named to the KMZU Dream Team.

Brown, who will join former S-C teammate Haley Wiskur on the Hawks roster, said Rockhurst is the best destination for her.

“Rockhurst is a really good fit for me academically,” she said. “I talked with a bunch of other schools before I decided Rockhurst was right for me. On my visit there, everything was perfect – the coaches were great, the campus was beautiful, and three girls from my traveling team (Missouri Phenom) are going there, too."

S-C Girls Basketball Head Coach Kevin Carr said: “I believe Bailey is going to be successful at Rockhurst because she not only puts in the work in the classroom but also in the gym. Over the summer, she would come in and get shots up early, make sure she was in the weight room, so she does all the little things that I think some people might overlook.”
