S-C’s Cook To Wrestle At Westminster
Smith-Cotton High School senior Triston Cook has accepted an academic scholarship and will wrestle at Westminster College in Fulton.
Cook, the son of Rhonda Cook and the late Mike Cook, was a four-year letter winner in wrestling for S-C and served as a team captain his junior and senior seasons.
Cook said the college’s welcoming atmosphere and proximity to Sedalia were key in his decision, along with the wrestling team having an opening at the 174-pound weight class.
S-C Wrestling Head Coach Joseph Hulsey, who also is Cook’s brother, said: “Triston has worked extremely hard over his four years in high school to accomplish his goal of wrestling in college. His work ethic and determination will carry him far at the next level. The S-C coaching staff wishes him the best and looks forward to seeing his success in college."
