Smith-Cotton High School senior Malina Gallegos has accepted an athletic scholarship to perform with the cheerleading squad at Columbia College in Columbia.

Gallegos, the daughter of Rachel Grady, has been an S-C cheerleader for three years,
serving as captain during her senior season. She is a two-time All-Central Missouri
Activities Conference Cheerleader (2021, 2022), and an All-American Cheerleader (2022).

Zara Hoover, Smith-Cotton cheerleading head coach, said: "Malina is such a hard-working athlete and has such great dedication and love for cheerleading. I am so thrilled to see her continue her passion at Columbia College. She is going to excel so
much at the college level."

Columbia College Cheerleading Head Coach Danniele Liles said, “I am really excited for Malina to join us and bring some new energy. She is young but she has a great work
ethic and is really excited every time I talk with her. She is just enthusiastic, and that
is the kind of athlete I love to have join my team.”
