Sedalia Man Arrested for ‘Transmitting Obscene Material to a Child’

On Friday, the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Centre, Alabama Police Department seeking assistance with locating and arresting a subject who has been contacting a person they believed to be a 14-year-old female.

Investigators with the Centre Police Department obtained a total of four warrants for Christopher Michael Cassidy of Sedalia, for Transmitting Obscene Material to a Child; with no bond.

A search warrant was obtained for Mr. Cassidy's residence in order to locate Mr. Cassidy as well as seize electronic devices.

Pettis County served the warrant on the same date at approximately 4:40 p.m., at Super 7 Motel, 5650 South Limit.

Cassidy was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending the filing of formal charges of Fugitive from Justice with the Pettis County Prosecuting Attorney Phillip Sawyer.
