Sedalia Man Arrested in Morgan County After Van Strikes Pole
A Sedalia man sustained minor injuries early Tuesday morning after the vehicle he was driving struck a utility pole in Morgan County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a northbound 2002 Ford Windstar, driven by 31-year-old John W. Washausen of Sedalia, was on Missouri 5, north of Valley Road at 3 a.m., when the vehicle crossed the center of the road and traveled off the left side of the roadway, striking a utility pole.
Washausen suffered minor injuries, and was transported to Lake Regional Hospital by Mid-Missouri Ambulance for treatment. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.
The Windstar was totaled.
Morgan County Deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.
Washuasen was later arrested at 6:10 a.m. on numerous charges, including felony possession of a controlled substance (meth), no seat belt, failure to drive on the right side of the roadway resulting in a crash, operating a motor vehicle on the highway without a valid license, and was wanted on a Sedalia failure to appear warrant for a traffic violation, and on a Pettis County warrant for failure to register a motor vehicle and operating a vehicle without a valid license.
Washausen was taken to the Morgan County County Jail on a 24-hour hold.
