On Tuesday morning (March 26), Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of S. Missouri Ave and W. 24th Street on a Dodge Intrepid for reportedly disobeying a stop sign.

The driver, 40-year old Melissa R. Hinck, of Green Ridge, reportedly gave police her identification, then sped away, leading to a high-speed vehicle pursuit. The vehicle was located on Heck Ave with the driver and two children still inside. A male passenger, who police say had a Pettis County warrant, fled the vehicle on foot and was not located.

Hinck was arrested and placed on a twenty-four hold in the Pettis County Jail, for Resisting Arrest, Hindering Prosecution, two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Driving while Suspended, and Careless & Imprudent Driving.

The male passenger who fled was not named in the report.
