Out of control patient arrested at Bothwell Hospital

Around 5:00 this ( Friday) morning, Sedalia police responded to Bothwell Hospital on a report of a patient out of control at the hospital who had assaulted staff and a security guard.  The suspect, identified as 47-year-old Jeffery Waters of Warsaw, was subdued and taken into custody by Sedalia police. At the time of the police report Waters was on 24-hour hold at the Pettis County jail pending formal charges of two counts of assault on law enforcement and three counts of 3rd degree assault.

Sedalia police searching for a suspect for discharging a firearm in the city limits

Just before 6:00 this (Friday) morning, Sedalia police were called to the 1800 block of South Harrison on a shots fired incident. Upon arrival, a witness told the officers she had seen a man standing in the street in front of a vehicle who fired two shots into the air as the vehicle drove away. The suspect then went back into a residence in the area  and had left before the officers arrived. Charges of discharging a firearm in the city limits await the suspect when the man is located.

Thieves enter home and steal several items Thursday night

At 11:30 on Thursday night, Sedalia police took a burglary complaint from a victim in the 500 block of West 5th. According to the victim, someone entered his residence while he was gone and stole a television, a Playstation 3 game console and several games sometime after 7:30 Thursday night. There were no suspects.

Thieves target a woman’s jewelry box in a residential burglary Wednesday afternoon

Around 4:30 Wednesday afternoon, a victim in the 600 block of East 19th filed a burglary complaint with the Sedalia police department. According to the female victim sometime over the past two days someone entered her home and stole a jewelry box full of jewelry. There were no suspects and no value was placed on the stolen items.

Safe found in the 1800 block of South Beacon

At 9:07 this (Friday) morning, a safe was reportedly found in the 1800 block of South Beacon. The safe’s lock was broken according to the report, and the safe contained paper clips and $1.57. The police report states the safe was placed into evidence at the police station.

Vehicle-deer accident results in moderate injuries for a Leeton woman

Just before 7:00 Thursday night, the Missouri State Highway patrol along with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department investigated an injury accident that occurred on Missouri Highway “13”  a half mile East of Business “13” in Johnson County. The accident reportedly happened as the 1997 Honda Accord driven by 23-year-old Courtney Robinson of Leeton struck a deer. The accident report states the impact caused the deer to strike the front windshield, travel through the windshield, strike the driver and exit the vehicle through the rear window. The vehicle then struck a pile of rocks before coming to rest. Robinson received moderate injuries in the accident and was transported to Research Hospital by EMS for treatment.

Benton County accident seriously injures a Marshfield man

At 7:23 Wednesday night, The Missouri State Highway patrol reported a one-vehicle injury accident on US 65 Highway a mile north of Dam Access Road in Benton County. The accident occurred as the Northbound 1990 Dodge Ram driven by 32-year-old Mark Brinkley of Marshfield ran off the right side of the roadway, then overcorrected and went off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle then travelled into the median, overturned and came to rest in the Southbound lanes of 65 Highway. Brinkley received serious injuries and was taken to University Hospital by Life Flight for treatment.
