South Quincy burglary reported by the victim Wednesday

Around noon Wednesday Sedalia police investigated a burglary complaint at a residence in the 1900 block of south Quincy. According to the victim he apparently interrupted the thieves when he came home for lunch. The police report states entry was made by prying open a rear window of the garage, that allowed access to the house. The victim told officers when he entered he saw the living room upended, the kitchen cabinets open, and his 47" television sitting at the back door. The thieves did get away with an-Box and games, a charter internet router, and some clothing. There is a suspect in the case according to the report.

Lowe's reports an employee was discovered stealing from the company

Just after 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon Sedalia police were dispatched to Lowe's at 3811 West Broadway on a theft complaint. Upon arrival asset Prevention personnel told them an employee identified as 28-year-old Rebecca Bell of Sedalia was discovered stealing from the company. At the time of the police report Bell was on 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail pending felony stealing charges.

Sedalia man found sleeping in his vehicle arrested on possession of marijuana charge

At 4:18 this (Thursday) morning Sedalia police reportedly found a man sleeping in the driver's seat of a vehicle at 18th and Park. A check on the man, 21-year-old Clarence Brandt of Sedalia revealed he was in possession of marijuana. Brandt was arrested, and taken to the Pettis County jail, where he was placed on 24-hour hold pending formal charges.

Joyous Chinese Restuarant on South Limit reports a burglary Wednesday morning

Wednesday morning Sedalia police were dispatched to Joyous Chinese at 1511 South Limit on a burglary report. Upon arrival officers found the front door glass was broken out. According to the manager sometime overnight someone broke into the business, and stole an unspecified amount of money from the register, and a drawer underneath it. There were no suspects at the time of the police report.

22-year-old suspect arrested at the Wal-Mart Store for stealing Wednesday morning

Just before noon Wednesday morning Sedalia police were called to the Wal-Mart Store on a shoplifter. Upon arrival asset protection personnel reported they observed 22-year-old Samantha Holbert of Sedalia putting items in her purse, and leave the store without paying. Holbert was arrested, and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending $531.50 bond on a charge of stealing.

Sedalia Police arrest a 37-year-old Sedalia woman at Wal-Mart for shoplifting

At 1:50 Wednesday afternoon Sedalia police investigated a shoplifting complaint at the Wal-Mart Store. According to the complainant 37-year-old Gretta Lake of Sedalia had concealed $134.88 worth of merchandise, and left the store without paying. Lake was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail where she was booked and released with a court date.

Kirbyville man arrested on an active warrant early this (Thursday) morning

At 4:43 this (Thursday) morning Sedalia police responded to Katy Motors located at 4343 South Limit to investigate suspicious subjects. Upon arrival officers made contact with 19-year-old Michael Harris of Kirbyville Mo., who was found to have an active warrant out of Branson. At the time of the police report Harris was in the Pettis County Jail pending a $300 bond.
