Sedalia Police responded to 24th and Walker Circle for a reported hit-and-run that occurred late Thursday night around 11:40 p.m.

According to a report, upon arrival by officers, the driver had already fled the scene and has not yet been identified.

The vehicle reportedly left the roadway, collided with a utility pole, crossed the roadway and then collided with a brush pile on the south side of the road.

The damage to the pole, which was sheared off at about eight feet off the ground, was estimated at over $5,000 by KCP&L.

The investigation continues. Anyone with information on the case is urged to call the SPD at 826-8100.
