Last Saturday night, Officers responded to the 900 block of Westwood Avenue for a report of a disturbance. After an on-scene investigation, one male subject was arrested. Travon Maurice Darnell Smith, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested for Aggravated Domestic Assault in the 2nd Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Armed Criminal Action. Smith was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the lobby of the Police Department Thursday morning in reference to a domestic disturbance. The disturbance occurred the night before in the 1100 block of West 35th Street Terrace. Two subjects were involved and were seen choking each other during an argument. Neither party was injured, and a 12-hour log was done to document the incident.

Thursday morning, Officers were dispatched to the alleyway between the 1000 block of South Missouri Avenue and South Vermont Avenue in reference to a report of theft and property damage. The suspect stole a trailer loaded with mowing equipment that was chained to a carport, resulting in the carport being dragged down the alley. The damage was estimated at a cost of $17,000. The suspect was later located and arrested. John T. Johnson II, 32, of Sedalia, was arrested for felony Stealing and felony Property Damage in the 1st Degree. Johnson was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold.


 

Officers spoke with a subject in the lobby of the Police Department Wednesday night in regards to an assault and a theft. Officers spoke with the victim, who relayed an incident that resulted in an assault, a theft, and possibly the unlawful use of a credit card device. The subject detailed the event, and named a possibly involved subject. No charges have been submitted at this time.
