Tuesday evening, Officers were dispatched to the Police Station lobby in reference to a missing juvenile report from New Haven, 1902 South Ingram Avenue. Officers were told a 12 year old female had not returned home from school. A little over three hours later, the juvenile returned home, and a report was completed to document the incident.


 

Officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of West 2nd Terrace for a disturbance Tuesday night. A resident inside was found to have two active Pettis County warrants for his arrest. Cody Wade Hayworth, 26, of Sedalia was arrested for a felony Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree and a misdemeanor Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree. Hayworth was held pending a $20,000 cash or surety bond on the warrants.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the area of East Broadway Boulevard and South Mildred Avenue for a report of suspicious activity Tuesday night. When Officers arrived, they located a male subject applying duct tape to the window of a car. Officers gathered the male's information, and gave it to Dispatch. Dispatch informed Officers the male had an active warrant for his arrest. Jacob L. Bryan, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested for Failure to Appear on original charges of Operating a Vehicle on the Highway Without a Valid License. Bryan was transported to the Pettis County jail, where he was given a $100 cash only bond.


 

Monday evening, Officers responded to the 600 block of South Missouri Avenue in reference to found property. Joshua Brooks Heimsoth stated he found drug paraphernalia inside the residence. The property was seized and entered into evidence for destruction.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the Highway Patrol Maintenance Building, 2200 South Limit Avenue Tuesday evening for a report of property damage. Alecia Slivinskiy stated that while she was travelling southbound on South Limit Avenue, under the Katy Trail Overpass, someone threw a rock from the overpass and it struck the hood of her vehicle. Slivinskiy estimated $1,000 in damage was caused to the vehicle as a result.


 

Tuesday evening, Officers on patrol stopped to check on a subject that was believed to have been in an accident. The male subject that was driving the vehicle was discovered to be intoxicated. George Richard Apel III, 53, of Sedalia, was arrested and taken to the Pettis County jail on charges of Driving While Intoxicated (Persistent Offender) and Driving While Suspended.


 

Tuesday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of East 5th Street for a report of a deceased subject. Upon arrival, it was determined that the subject was in fact deceased. There is no foul play suspected at this time and it appears as if the subject passed away from natural causes.


 

Monday morning, Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 800 block of Brentwood Avenue for a report of found property. Officers made contact with Mary J. Stevenson, who showed Officers two bikes that had been left behind her house. Officers ran the serial numbers of both bikes through Dispatch, and neither had been reported as stolen. The bikes were collected and placed into found property.


 

Monday afternoon, Officers spoke with William Barlish in reference to hit and run accident. Barlish stated he was involved in an accident on South Limit Avenue near West 16th Street, and the other vehicle left the scene. Officers were able to identify the other driver and vehicle, and through investigation learned it was simply a miscommunication between the two on the scene. A crash report was completed.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the lobby of the Police Department in reference to a hit and run Monday morning. Officers met with Amy Russell, who stated she was rear ended while on Thompson Boulevard, near Broadway Boulevard. Russell stated the striking vehicle left the scene without providing information. At the time of the report, the suspect has not been identified.


 

Monday afternoon, Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Smith Cotton High School, 2010 Tiger Pride Boulevard, for a report of harassment. Upon arrival, Officers met with the victim, who stated that a known subject threatened to kill her the next time he saw her. Officers will be seeking a charge of harassment against the suspect.


 

Monday evening, Officers took a report over the phone in reference to a sex crime. Officers spoke to the victim, and a report was made.


 

Monday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the Woods Express, 701 East Broadway Boulevard, in reference to a disturbance. The caller was an employee of the store, who said a subject was in the store yelling and refusing to leave. The caller also said the subject was making reference to committing suicide. Officers made contact with the subject, who then damaged property in the store and attempted to leave with un-purchased merchandise. When Officers attempted to detain the subject, he resisted and was taken into custody. Danny R. Leopold, 36, Homeless, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending the filing of state charges of Peace Disturbance, Property Damage in the 2nd Degree, Trespassing in the 1st Degree, Attempted Stealing, and Resisting Arrest.
