This article is compiled from the Sedalia Police Department reports. Thursday night, Officers took a report in the lobby of the Police Department in reference to an assault. A juvenile came into the lobby and stated her mother's boyfriend had assaulted her earlier in the evening in the 500 block of East 2nd Street. Based upon the information gathered from the juvenile, no crime has been committed.


Sedalia Police responded to the 1000 block of East 4th Street Thursday night to take a theft report. Christina M. Dietzman reported two bicycles stolen from her yard in the hours prior to the report. Dietzman wasn't sure who would have taken the bikes, but that it was an ongoing issue in the neighborhood. A theft report was taken.


Early Friday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Main Street and Oak Grove Lane. The driver of the vehicle, Vincent Jones, 29, of Blanchard Oklahoma, was found to have an active Benton County warrant for Failure to Appear on original charges of Speeding. Jones was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, pending a bond of $600 cash or surety. NOTE: Casenet lists Jones' FTA warrant as recalled/withdrawn on July 1st, with the hearing cancelled on July 11th, and the case disposed of on July 12th - noting the fine was paid by credit card (Case #190185128).

Thursday afternoon, Officers responded to the lobby of the Police Station for a found property report. Laura Arellano reported she had found a cell phone in the 800 block of West 4th Street. The owner was unable to be determined. The phone was placed into evidence for safe keeping.


Officers were dispatched to the Police Station lobby Wednesday afternoon to make contact with a subject who wanted to report someone was using her information to open an account. When Officers arrived, they made contact with Delores M. Wade. Wade stated her lawyer informed her to come to the Police Station to report the incident, to get a law suit against her dismissed. Officers spoke with her attorney, and confirmed her information. There was little information for an investigation. Officers gave the attorney the report number. There are no suspects at this time.


Wednesday evening, Officers responded to the 900 block of South Moniteau Avenue in reference to a harassment report. The victim stated they were harassed through text messages. A report was made to document the incident.


Sedalia Police were dispatched to the office of Probation and Parole, 205 Thompson Road, in reference to a subject with a parole violation warrant Thursday morning. The subject was identified, and it was confirmed through Dispatch that the subject had a no bond parole warrant on original charges of Burglary. Travis Lee Edgar, 44, of Sedalia, was arrested for his warrant and transported to the Pettis County Jail.


Wednesday night, Officers responded to the 300 block of West 7th Street for a domestic incident that occurred. Jacob D. Howery reported being slapped twice by the mother of their child without reason. The suspect was identified, and Officer attempted to locate her, but were unable to do so. Charges of Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree are being requested on the suspect.
