Sedalia Police responded to the Sonic restaurant, 300 West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a trespassing report on Wednesday night. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with the intoxicated subject a few minutes later, who had been trespassing at the restaurant. Dwight Albert Trester II, 62, of Sedalia, was arrested for Trespassing in the 1st Degree. Trester was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold.


 

Wednesday evening, Officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the 400 block of West 6th Street. After speaking with both parties, it was discovered the suspect had contact with the victim, violating an order of protection. A request for the charge of Violation of an Order of Protection has bene submitted to the prosecutor.


 

Wednesday evening, Officers were dispatched to give a phone call to Bobby Hall. Hall reported a hit and run accident that occurred in the Wal Mart parking lot, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard, on August 8th. Officers gathered the necessary information to generate a report of the incident.

Last Friday night, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near South Ohio and East 16th Street because it had excessively dark window tinting. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered the driver had a suspended license. The driver was also found to be intoxicated, and had an outstanding warrant from Lee’s Summit PD. The warrant was issued on July of 2024, on charges of Harassment (By Means Other Than Phone)*. Bond on the warrant was set at $2500. Anthony Lamar Melton, 36, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (Prior Offender), Driving While Suspended, Operating a Motor Vehicle With Vision Reducing Material Applied, and his Harassment warrant. Melton was read implied consent and refused to provide a blood sample. A search warrant was obtained, and a blood draw was conducted. Melton was booked in at the Pettis County Jail.


 

Sunday evening, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired registration plate near Wilkerson Avenue and South Quincy Avenue. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered the driver had a suspended driving status. Karen Kerr, 62, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Suspended. Kerr was issued a UTT for DWS and released on scene.


 

Officers responded to the 900 block of Westwood Drive in reference to theft Wednesday evening. Tervionta Martell Waddell spoke with Police and Officers gathered information to generate a report.


 

Wednesday evening, Officers responded to the intersection of east 17th Street and South Summit Avenue in reference to a traffic accident. Officers ran the driver’s information through Dispatch, and it was found she was revoked. Susan Dawn McNeal, 43, of Mora, was arrested for Driving While Revoked. McNeal was booked and released at the Pettis County Jail.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 900 block of West 10th Street in reference to a property damage report Wednesday afternoon. Joseph Hulsey said that about an hour before, someone had damaged the driver side mirror of his vehicle.


 

Wednesday afternoon, an Officer was dispatched to a property damage report in the 300 block of East 2nd Street. Joseph Braccino said that the back windshield of his vehicle had been broken out.


 

Lawrence Jordan came to the lobby of the Police Department on the afternoon of August 9th to report a theft that occurred. The theft occurred in the 1800 block of South Barrett Avenue.


 

*The warrant, filed by citation, says Melton engaged in harassment for the purpose of frightening or disturbing the victim by communicating with an electronic communications device a threat to commit the felony of shooting the victim. He is, as a part of his bond conditions, not to contact the victim, or the victim’s place of employment, the John Knox Village Senior Living Community in Lee’s Summit.
