Sedalia Police Reports For August 17, 2022

Tuesday night, Officers responded to the 900 block of Sue Lane in reference to a missing juvenile. When Officers arrived, it was determined a subject known to the juvenile took the juvenile for a walk and never returned. Sedalia Police Officers, assisted by the Pettis County Sheriff's Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, quickly began a search for the subject and the juvenile. MSHP Troopers assigned to the Missouri State Fair detail were able to locate the subject and the juvenile within minutes of the information being provided to them. Officers determined that the subject was going through a medical episode, and were able to get the subject medical treatment. The juvenile was returned to the family unharmed.

Sedalia Police responded to the Police Station lobby Tuesday night in reference to a violation of a protection order. The subject stated that the respondent in the protection order violated it in the 2500 block of West 16th Street. The suspect has been identified, and the case will be sent to the prosecutor for review.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near West Main Street and Thompson Road for expired registration Tuesday afternoon. It was discovered that the driver had an active warrant from Camden County for Failure to Appear on original charges of Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle. Gunnar M. Moore, 32, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where bond was set at $150 cash only.

Tuesday afternoon, Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Orscheln's Farm and Home store, 2424 South Limit Avenue, for a report of stealing. When Officers arrived, they spoke with Shawna C. Forbord, an employee of the store. Forbord stated that on the evening of August 6th, two men stole $4,099.98 worth of equipment. Surveillance video from a nearby business showed two men using a white pickup truck to haul the items away. At the time of the report, the suspects have not been identified. A copy of the report was sent to Dispatch to be entered.

Monday afternoon, Officers responded to the 600 block of East 12th Street for a theft report. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with Bill J. Griffith. Griffith stated two cultivator wheels were stolen from his back porch. Griffith stated the theft occurred near the end of June. The wheels were valued by him to be $250 each. At the time of the report, a suspect has not been located.
