Sedalia Police Reports For August 24, 2022

Tuesday evening, Officers were dispatched to the intersection of East 5th Street and South Massachusetts Avenue for a report of found property. The property was collected and placed into the Police Department's storage unit until an owner comes to the Station to claim it.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the All Ways Cleaning Car Wash, 2816 East Broadway Boulevard, in reference to a property damage complaint Tuesday night. When Officers arrived, they spoke with the owners. They stated that a suspect left a black mark on the asphalt parking lot with the tire of their car. The owner estimated the tire mark caused approximately $2,000 in damage. No arrests have been made.

Tuesday morning, Officers stopped a vehicle near the intersection of West 7th Street and South Osage Avenue after noticing it had both expired and improper registration. A computer check of the driver's information showed that she had an active municipal warrant issued for her arrest from Pettis County (La Monte) for Failure to Appear on original charges of No License for an Animal. Christina Ann Wilken, 38, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be held pending a $100 cash only bond.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 900 block of South Moniteau Avenue Tuesday morning in reference to a property damage report. Sometime in the earlier morning hours, the caller's vehicle sustained damage to the rear and front windshields. There was also a dent to the rear lift gate. Nothing in the vehicle was missing, and the doors were still locked.

Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of South Kentucky Avenue Tuesday morning in reference to a possible violation of a protection order. After the issue was resolved, a bag of drug paraphernalia was seized from the house for destruction.

Monday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of East 10th Street in reference to a court order dispute. The court order was explained to both parties, and the incident was documented with a general information report.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Salvation Army, 1200 East Broadway Boulevard, in reference to property damage report Monday morning. The complainant, an employee with the Salvation Army, said that someone damaged three air conditioning units and drained the Freon out of them. The estimated value to fix the air conditioners was set at $5,200.

In the early morning hours of August 19th, Officers observed a black Ford travelling down West Broadway Boulevard, straddling the lane divider. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle at West Broadway Boulevard and South Missouri Avenue. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. He also had a suspended driving status. Adonis J. Mason, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department. There, Mason refused to provide a breath sample. A search warrant was obtained, and a blood draw was conducted. Mason was then transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 12 hour hold. A request for the charges of Driving While Intoxicated (Prior Offender) and Driving While Suspended have been submitted to the prosecutor.
