On the early morning hours of August 30th, Officers conducted an area check near the Casey's store, 120 East 16th Street. Officers smelled the odor of marijuana coming from a nearby vehicle. A passenger in the vehicle was found to have an active arrest warrant out of the City of Marshall for Failure to Appear. Blake Austin Hollon, 23, of Sedalia, was arrested on the warrant with a $100 cash only bond. A probable cause search of the vehicle resulted in no contraband being found. Hollon was transported to the Saline/Pettis County line and turned over to the Marshall Police Department.

Monday night, Officers responded to the Bothwell Regional Health Center to take a report of a dog bite. Cristopher L. Amos reported his one month old puppy bit him on the ear, causing a scratch on the ear while they were playing in the 700 block of East 12th Street. An animal bite report was taken.


 

Sedalia Police took a found property report Monday evening in the 600 block of East 17th. Pills were found in the reporting party's yard. The pills were turned over to the SPD. The pill, of unknown type, will be secured into evidence for destruction.


 

Early Tuesday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of North Mill Avenue in reference to a disturbance. Officers spoke to the subjects involved, and performed a computer check through Dispatch. The check revealed that one of the subjects had a warrant for their arrest. Alexander Scott Hoose, 30, of Sedalia, was arrested for his Probation Violation warrant out of Cooper County on original charges of Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree. Hoose was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, pending a $1000 cash or surety bond.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the 700 block of West 2nd Street for a report of an unresponsive male subject Monday evening. When Officers arrived on scene, medical treatment was rendered and turned over to medical staff as they arrived. The male subject was later pronounced deceased. No foul play was suspected.


 

Monday afternoon, Officers conducted a warrant check at the Police Department, 300 West 3rd Street. Bear Hagston, 21, of Sedalia, was arrested on a felony Forgery warrant from Pettis County. Hagston was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked pending a bond of $250 cash only.


 

Officers were dispatched to the area of East 24th Street and South New York Avenue Monday afternoon for a report of stealing. When Officers, arrived, they spoke with Jason M. Leonard. Leonard stated that sometime between Friday and Monday morning, someone took $2,050 worth of construction equipment. There are no suspects at this time.


 

Monday morning, Officers met with a subject at the Econolodge, 3501 West Broadway Boulevard. The subject was found to be involved with a stolen debit card and arrested at the scene. Jessica L. Reed, 25, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked and released, pending charges of Stealing and Fraudulent Use of a Credit/Debit Device.
