Sedalia Police Reports for August 30, 2024

While on a routine patrol, contact was made by Sedalia Police with an individual who had been bitten by a dog in the 600 block of North Missouri Avenue. The dog and the dog owner were located. Sedalia Animal Control took custody of the animal Wednesday afternoon. A report was generated for documentation purposes.
Wednesday afternoon, a call came from the 600 block of East 5th Street regarding a theft. Upon arrival, information was gathered for a report. After the investigation, it was determined a theft did not occur, due to a civil issue. It was determined that in fact, there was a crime of trespassing. Jessica Lorene Smith, 39, of Sedalia, was issued a city summons for Trespassing.
Thursday evening, Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of South Quincy Avenue for a report of package theft. Officers gathered the information and generated a report for investigation.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with improper registration near East 16th Street and South Ohio Avenue early Friday morning. It was discovered the driver had a suspended driving status. Serghei Boris Ciobanu, 37, of Smithton, was arrested for a charge of Driving While Revoked. Ciobanu was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released.
Thursday evening, Officers made contact with Jaime Marcos and gathered information for a report of an accident in the area of East 3rd Street and North Engineer Avenue. After the investigation, there was not enough evidence to determine an accident occurred.
