Last Tuesday night, Officers were dispatched to the Casey's store, 1601 East Broadway Boulevard, in reference to a forgery. A customer was attempting to pass a forged $50 bill. Officers spoke with the caller over the phone and later went to the business. Officers watched video footage and collected the forged bill.


 

Sedalia Police responded to Schwan's, 3003 Erika Avenue early Monday morning in reference to a theft report. Officers spoke with Richard Martin, who stated a Schwan's truck was broken into. It is currently unknown what was stolen from the truck. No suspects have been identified at this time.


 

Early Monday morning, Sedalia Police stopped a passenger vehicle for a license plate violation in the 1600 block of East Broadway Boulevard. The operator was found to have a suspended driving status. Adonis J. Mason, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested without incident and issued a citation for Driving While Suspended and Expired Registration with a court date.


 

Officers responded to the 3000 block of South Limit Avenue Sunday night in reference to reports of a reckless driver. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle at the intersection of Plaza Avenue and Brandon Avenue. The driver was found to be intoxicated. Carla V. Scott, 54, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Scott was transported to the Sedalia Police Department, where she refused to provide a breath sample. A blood draw was completed, and Scott was booked into the Pettis County Jail for Driving While Intoxicated.


 

Saturday evening, Officers were dispatched to the Woods Supermarket, 701 East Broadway Boulevard, for a theft report. A vehicle and person matching the description was located in the 1000 block of East 13th Street. The suspect attempted to hide the items he had stolen on the property. The items were recovered, and Jeremy E. Pointer, 42, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest for charges of Shoplifting and Tampering With Physical Evidence. The items were returned to the supermarket, while Pointer was transported to the Pettis County Jail. Pointer was booked and released pending formal charges.


 

Sedalia Police spoke with Cameron Gordon Scott Sunday night in the lobby of the Police Station. Scott wished to file assault charges. After speaking with Scott, it was determined to pursue charges.


 

Sunday night, Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of East 13th Street in reference to a physical domestic disturbance. Contact was made with all parties. The victim had visible injuries and claimed the suspect had assaulted her. The suspect did not have any visible injuries, and was determined to be the primary physical aggressor. Noah J. Mitchell, 44, of Sedalia, was arrested for felony Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Mitchell was placed on a 24 hour hold.

Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of East 24th Street Sunday evening in reference to report of a sex crime. Officers spoke with the complainant, who stated his father molested an 11 year old girl. A report was made to Child Safe, and a hotline call was made to the Missouri Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline.


 

Sedalia Police observed an individual in the 1600 block of South Washington Avenue Sunday night that they knew had an active arrest warrant. The individual was identified, and it was confirmed through Communications that he had a warrant for his arrest. Daniel Noel Schnack, 52, Homeless, was arrested for his warrant on charges of Trespassing in the 1st Degree. Schnack was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he is being held pending a $1500 cash or surety bond.


 

Early Sunday morning, Officers were dispatched to the Casey's store, 716 West 16th Street, in reference to a vehicle check. Officers arrived and located a blue Jeep Cherokee at the gas pumps that was reported to have been there for two hours. Contact was made with a subject. After further investigation, Julianna Gigi Reid, 35, Homeless, was taken into custody. Reid was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be held pending charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Dangerous Drug, Driving While Suspended, and felony Tampering With Physical Evidence.


 

Saturday evening, Officers conducted a warrant check in the 300 block of West 5th Street. The subject had five warrants for Failure to Appear out of Sedalia for original charges of Failure to Yield, Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Highway Without A Valid License, Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility, Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle, and No Seat Belt. She also had a Failure to Appear warrant from Pettis County on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Highway Without A Valid License. When Officers arrived, Shaylee Lynn Lynch, 22, of Sedalia, was taken into custody without incident. Lynch was then transported to the Pettis County Jail for processing, pending a total cash only bond of $516.00 cash only.


 

Early Sunday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle identified as the suspect vehicle in a prior incident. All of the occupants were identified and their information was checked with Dispatch. One of the occupants came back with an active Pettis County warrant for Failure to Appear on original charges of Driving While Intoxicated. Leon Beamon Jr., 34, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a $250 cash only bond.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding at 59 MPH in the 45 MPH zone in the area of North Limit Avenue and Duke Drive early Saturday morning. After investigation, George J. Nieters, 51, of Hughesville, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Nieters was transported to the Sedalia Police Department for processing and was later released to a sober person.


 

Sunday morning, Officers responded to the Dollar General store, 713 East Broadway Boulevard, in reference to a forgery call. Upon arrival, Officers met with employees and took a report. Camera footage is available from the incident. The investigation continues.


 

Officers were dispatched to the St Vincent's De Paul Parish, 421 West 3rd Street, for a report of a burglary Sunday morning. When Officers arrived, they spoke with David D. Dick. Dick stated that when he opened earlier that morning, they found someone had entered the church. They found items damaged and property stolen. The combined value of the stolen items and the damage was placed at $510. Officers took photos of the damage, but there are no suspects at this time.


 

On the night of August 5th, Officers conducted a traffic stop at the Murphy USA Gas Station, 3203 West Broadway Boulevard. A check through Dispatch showed the driver of the vehicle had a no bond warrant out of Benton County, and also had a suspended driver's license. Deanna M. Atkinson, 31, of Sedalia, was issued a summons for Driving While Suspended and arrested for her felony warrant for Failure to Abide on original charges of felony Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree, felony Resisting Arrest, Assault in the 4th Degree (Pursuant To Subdivision (6) Special Victims) and Assault in the 4th Degree (Pursuant To Subdivision (3)). Atkinson was transported to the Pettis County Jail on the no bond warrant.


 

Saturday night, Officers responded to the 300 block of South Lamine in reference to a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. Officers made contact with the victim, who was breathing, but unresponsive. The victim was transported by EMS. Melissa L. Barker, 44, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Barker was transported to the Sedalia Police Department, where she refused to provide a breath sample. A blood draw as done, and Barker was booked into the Pettis County Jail for Driving While Intoxicated. Barker was then placed on a 24 hour hold.


 

Early Sunday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of North Moniteau in reference to a 911 call. The caller stated her son was intoxicated, and assaulted her daughter. The victim wished to pursue charges. Charges are being submitted to the state prosecutor's office for Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 600 block of East 13th Street in reference to a runaway juvenile early Sunday morning. Officers spoke with Jennifer I. Richardson, who said her son ran off earlier that night and had not returned. The juvenile was entered as a Missing Person/Runaway.


 

On the evening of August 6th, Officers responded to the 1500 block of East 7th Street for a warrant check. Brenten E. Schultz, 37, Homeless, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail on two active warrants for Assault in the 4th Degree and Property Damage in the 2nd Degree. Schultz was booked in with a $2500 cash or surety bond.


 

Friday evening, Officers responded to the 200 block of South Missouri Avenue in regards to a juvenile on a bicycle that had been struck by a vehicle. Officers identified the driver, and in the course of the investigation, found he did not have an operator's license. Rene Perez, 42, of Sedalia, was arrested for No Operator's License and transported to the Police Station. There, Perez was released with a summons. The juvenile was transported to the hospital by EMS with injuries to the right arm.


 

Saturday afternoon, Officers were contacted by phone in reference to an alleged assault that had occurred. The reporting person wanted information about getting an Ex-Parte. The subject was given information about how to obtain the Ex-Parte. A report was made to document the alleged incident in the general area of West 18th Street and South Vermont Avenue, the address was not disclosed to Officers.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the Liquor Locker, 513 West Main Street Friday afternoon for a report of abandoned property. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with an employee. The employee stated that a bicycle had been left on the lot for the last three days. The bicycle was placed into evidence.


 

On the afternoon of August 2nd, Officers spoke with the victim by phone in reference to a theft report. Michael Marchesi reported that money was taken from his bank account and that information was used to open a credit card account. It was determined that the crimes occurred outside the City of Sedalia, so the report was forwarded to the proper jurisdiction.
