Thursday night, Officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and Westwood Avenue. During the stop, it was discovered the driver did not have an operator’s license. A request for the charge of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without A Valid License is being sent to the prosecutor. The suspect was not named in the report, and released on scene.


 

Thursday night, Officers responded to the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard, for a report of theft. The suspect had tried to take make up and food items from the business. Lindi M. Brownfield, 48, of Sedalia, was issued a summons for Shoplifting, and was then issued a trespass notice from the store.


 

Officers were advised by Asset Protection at the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard, they had a suspect in custody. Officers arrived on scene and arrested a suspect for shoplifting. Morgan Harms, 20, Homeless, was arrested on a charge of Stealing and then released with a citation.


 

Sedalia Police met with a female subject on Thursday night at the Police Station. She brought in a purse she found in the area of South Lafayette Avenue and East 17th Street. The owner was identified, but not located.

On the night of August 3rd, Officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of West 10th Street for a property damage call. Officers made contact with the victim, who stated she and the suspect got into an argument while eating dinner. The suspect decided he was going to leave. A few minutes later, he came back to the house and knocked on the door. The victim asked what he wanted, and he stated he wanted a firearm that belonged to the victim. She stated she did not have it, and it was at another location. The suspect then kicked in the victim’s door, breaking the physical frame so the door could not be secured. When told she would call the Police, the suspect walked back to this house. As she was on the phone with Police, the suspect came back to the house and waved at her while she was on the phone. Speaking with Police, the victim stated she was in fear the suspect was going to return. She stated multiple times, “He’s going to kill me.” After Officers arrived, they attempted to make contact with the suspect. After exhausting all attempts, getting a warrant, and announcing several times, the door was breached. The suspect came quickly out of a bedroom and was read the search warrant as well as read his Miranda rights. Joseph James Sullivan, 41, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Burglary in the 1st Degree, Property Damage in the 1st Degree, and Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree. Sullivan was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold. Sullivan was later issued a bond of $15,000 cash or surety; with the condition he must have no contact with the victim.


 

Thursday evening, Officers responded to the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard, for a report of theft. The complainant reported an identified subject had stolen several food and clothing items from the business. Joshua McClendon, 48, of Smithton, was arrested on a charge of Stealing. McClendon was then released on scene with a summons and a court date.


 

Thursday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of East 13th Street in reference to trespassing. Officers spoke with Valarie Coonce and filed a report.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of South Warren Avenue in reference to a burglary no longer in progress. Officers spoke with Tyler and Jason Talbott. A resident had the garage door open, and their two dogs were let out. One dog is still missing.


 

Officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of East 4th Street Thursday morning. Larry W. Schneider reported a burglary had occurred overnight.


 

Wednesday afternoon, Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of West 17th Street and South Vermont Avenue on two males on motorcycles. One male was found to have a suspended driver’s license. Giovanni G. Panichi, 23, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Suspended. Panichi was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released.


 

On the night of August 4th, Officers were dispatched to a report of a hit and run accident. Cayden Lynch reported the accident occurred in the 3000 block of South Limit Avenue.


 

Thursday morning, Officers responded to the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard, for a report of a shoplifter. In formation was gathered from the reporting party and the suspect. Cora Jean Comfort Miller, 31, of Warrensburg, was arrested on a charge of Stealing. Miller was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released pending state charges.


 

Thursday afternoon, Officers responded to the Probation and Parole Office, 205 Thompson Road, in reference to a subject present with a warrant for their arrest. Officers made contact with the subject and determined there was a warrant filed in his name in May of 2024 on charges of Driving While Suspended, two counts of felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility. Oleg A. Mironov, 29, of Sedalia, was arrested for his warrant. Mironov also has a Probation Violation warrant on Possession of a Controlled Substance and another Probation Violation warrant on charges of Stealing. Mironov was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked, pending a cash or surety bond of $10,000.


 

Wednesday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to an identity theft follow up visit. A statement was given by the complainant, and a report was generated.
