Sedalia Police reports 12-23-19

Sedalia Police arrested 21-year-old Addison Jacob Selvey of Sedalia for possession of drug paraphernalia after officers were called to the JC Penney parking lot, 3159 W. Broadway, at 2 p.m. Dec. 18 on a report of two people smoking marijuana in a vehicle. Drug paraphernalia was in plain view, according to the report. The officer detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, and a probable cause search led to the discovery of drug-related items, including a glass smoking pipe, which the driver handed to the officer. Selvey was issued a Municipal summons, with a Feb. 12 court date.


 

On Dec. 18, Sedalia Police took a report from a female victim, who said that she was assaulted by a suspect in the 2200 block of E. Broadway. The suspect, 20-year-old Alex C. Esser, was located a short time later in the 800 block of E. 6th and arrested. Esser was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold, pending the charges of 3rd degree assault.


 

Sedalia Police took a report of a stolen vehicle from a woman in the 2200 block of E. 16th on Dec. 13. The vehicle was later recovered in Dresden. There are no suspects in the case.


 

Walmart, 3201 W. Broadway, reported the theft of a cell phone from the store on Dec. 18.


 

On Dec. 19, Sedalia Police took a theft report in the 800 block of Ruth Ann Drive. Taken was $900 worth of painting and carpentry equipment from the residence overnight. There are no suspects.
